Combine simplicity and elegance with these tasty deluxe appetizers made with our Mejicano tortillas cut into rounds. These bite-size treats are easy to prepare and will delight your taste buds!

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 10-in. Mejicano tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 mL) sea salt
  • 1 cup (240 mL) guacamole
  • ½ cup (120 mL) sour cream
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 orange
  • 300 g crab meat
  • A few chives, chopped

STEPS

  • Preheat the oven to 350 °F.
  • Using a cookie cutter or a lid measuring roughly 2 in. in diameter, cut out rounds in the tortillas to make chips.
  • Place the rounds on an oven-safe sheet, brush with olive oil and sprinkle lightly with salt. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
  • While the chips are baking, cut the orange into supremes, and then each supreme in half. 
  • Remove the chips from the oven and let cool.
  • In a bowl, mix the guacamole, sour cream and lime juice to make the avocado crema.
  • Place a dollop (about 1 tablespoon) of avocado crema on each chip, followed by the crab meat and orange supremes.
  • Garnish with chives and enjoy!
