Made with our delicious Mejicano tortillas, this original and ultra decadent recipe is one you’ll want to share with the whole family.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 Regular Mejicano tortillas (10 in.)
  • 1 cup (240 mL) white sugar
  • ⅓ cup (80 mL) ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup (120 mL) fondue chocolate
  • 10 to 12 strawberries, sliced
  • 1 banana, cut into rounds
  • Whipped cream
  • 2 cups (500 mL) vegetable oil

STEPS

  • In a large bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Cut the tortillas into triangles.
  • In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, fry the tortilla chips for about 2 minutes, making sure that they don’t stick together.
  • Lightly drain the chips and dip them into the mixture of sugar and cinnamon, making sure they are well coated.
  • Repeat this step for all the chips. Set aside for a few minutes.
  • Cut up the fruit and heat the chocolate.
  • Layer the tortilla chips on a large plate, like nachos.
  • Dip the fruit in the chocolate and place on top of the tortillas.
  • Garnish with dollops of whipped cream, and enjoy!
