Summer salsas

2 cups of salsa

Here are three summer salsa recipes to brighten up your days! Enjoy them with tortilla chips.

 

INGREDIENTS

Mango pico de gallo

  • 2 large hothouse tomatoes
  • 1 red mango
  • ½ red onion
  • ½ bunch of cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) sea salt 

Spicy pineapple and pepper salsa

  • 2 large hothouse tomatoes
  • ½ pineapple
  • ½ white onion
  • 2 habanero peppers
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) sea salt 

Strawberry, mint and lime salsa

  • 4 cups (1 L) strawberries
  • ½ cucumber
  • 1 bunch of fresh mint
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • Lime zest (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon (15 mL) sugar

STEPS

Mango pico de gallo

  • Cut the tomatoes, mango and red onion into small cubes (approx. 5 mm).
  • Wash and coarsely chop the cilantro.
  • In a bowl, add the lime juice and sea salt to the other ingredients.
  • Mix well and refrigerate. Wait a few minutes before serving

Spicy pineapple and pepper salsa

  • Cut the tomatoes, pineapple, onion and peppers into small cubes (approx. 5 mm).
  • In a bowl, add the lime juice and sea salt to the other ingredients.
  • Mix well and refrigerate. Wait a few minutes before serving.

Strawberry, mint and lime salsa

  • Cut the strawberries and cucumber into small cubes (approx. 5 mm).
  • Wash and coarsely chop the fresh mint.
  • In a bowl, add the lime juice and the sugar to the other ingredients.
  • Mix well and refrigerate. Wait a few minutes before serving. For added flavour, use the lime zest.
