Mexican Salsa

Enhance the flavour of your Mexican dishes with this homemade salsa. It will make your meals really stand out!

 

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 ripe tomatoes
  • ½ white onion
  • 1 jalapeño pepper
  • 8 sprigs of cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime 
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of sea salt

STEPS

  • Place the tomatoes in a pot of boiling water and leave about 30 seconds. 
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking. 
  • Peel the tomatoes.
  • Dice the onion and jalapeño pepper.
  • Chop the cilantro.
  • Place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend for about 15 to 20 seconds.
  • Enjoy!

*Tip: For a spicier salsa, add a pinch or two of cayenne pepper.
