Fruit salsa and sweet chips

Give in to temptation with our fruit salsa and sweet chips, a delicious dessert that’s perfect for sharing!

 

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 regular Mejicano tortillas (10 in.)
  • ⅓ cup (80 mL) white sugar
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) ground cinnamon
  • 500 mL oil (for frying)
  • 1 ripe mango
  • 3 kiwis
  • 1 container of strawberries
  • 1 container of blueberries
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • A few fresh mint leaves 

STEPS

  • Pour the oil into a large pot and heat until the temperature reaches 350°F. 
  • On a cutting board, cut the tortillas into small triangles roughly 3-in. long.
  • Combine the cinnamon with a little more than half the white sugar.
  • Once the oil is hot, fry the chips. Remove them from the oil and immediately sprinkle both sides with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Set aside.
  • On the cutting board, dice the mango, kiwis and strawberries.
  • Place the diced fruit in a large bowl along with the blueberries, the remaining sugar and the juice of half a lemon. Mix everything together.
  • Place in a serving bowl and garnish with a few mint leaves.
